Updates on Bible Study

Our Faith that Works bible studies have been such a blessing! Last week we studied Matthew Chapter 4 and focused on Jesus in the wilderness, being tempted by satan. As I studied the confrontation between Jesus and satan I saw how submitted Jesus was to the task before Him..nothing, not hunger, pride, or deceit from the enemy resulted in Jesus straying from His mission. I love the perfect example Jesus set for us throughout His entire life here on earth. Jesus showed us the way, He not only taught the way-He lived it!! Here are a few verses to ponder in regard to temptation:

1 Corinthians 10:13 " No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is FAITHFUL; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear."

"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. . . Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you." James 4:7-10

Submit to God
Resist the devil
Draw near to God
Cleanse your hands (walk worthy)
Purify your heart (what you take in)
Humble yourself
He will exalt you (over these battles)

So, Look again at Matthew 4 in light of these verses. Are you feeling down? Are you feeling the task in front of you is impossible? Well, it is not! Scripture does not lie-and scripture also gives us the way to stand faithful and strong in the midst of our trials.

This week we will be talking about our "STORIES" and as you prepare to learn how to share your testimony, remember these verses and look for the truth of them in your life and how you can bring God glory by sharing that with others!

Blessings!
