Faith that Works Update

This week was busy, even though it is summer,  we are forging ahead!

We continue with our young women's bible study on Thursday evenings, Pieces in the Mind, or A Peace of Mind."  We enjoyed a potluck dinner with 20 young women, and 4 of us "older" women.   We discussed the future of the young women's study and decided to continue for two more weeks as a follow up to our class, then break for one month and pick it up in the fall.  We are still looking for older women to facilitate groups for this fall study.

We are officially supporting Mercy Chapel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  We are into our second month and excited to be more involved with Mercy Chapel through trips to Ethiopia, with support in practical ways as needed.  We thank International Crisis Aid for allowing us to be a partner in this awesome work.  Our need for Ethiopia?  Money!  There are hurting young women in the Red Light District that need our help.  With very little money we can help rescue more girls and reach out to them with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Mercy Chapel will continue to bring practical help to these girls who are hurting.

We are also participating again in the Mercy 5k.  Faith that Works is a super sponsor and we also have a team participating in the run.  If you are interested in walking or running with us please sign up at www.runformercy.org.  Our team name is Faith that Works, after you select a city on the home page, you will be able to find our team.  We are also meeting on Friday mornings to "train."  We meet at 8:30 am at the Wildwood Starbucks on 100.

There is much more..stay posted for details on our pledge carwash, upcoming bible studies, mentoring groups, missions, and tent town..Help us put Faith Into Action!  We need you!
