I miss you Dad

Tomorrow is fathers day.  I miss you dad.  I miss the encouragement, the laughs, remembering now the good and not so much the bad.  I am learning to let go of the bad and savor the things you taught me.

I remember how you seemed fearless.  I understand now, that you most likely had fear, but you stepped out  regardless of that fear.  I look back and admire things that I missed when you were here.  How could I have known how unique my childhood was?

Fishing, hunting, skiing, countryside, sunrise drives out to a particular piece of land you just had to buy.  I also remember fast drives in fast cars with loud music (I still drive too fast), and dirt roads.  You taught me to go for it, to live life, to love people, and fight for happiness.  It stays with me, I miss you.  I think of you more as I grow older and just want to thank you as I choose to remember the good!
